Research Opportunities
Clinical research training opportunities both within and outside the Pediatric Nephrology division. Pediatric Nephrology faculty are involved in multicenter large-scale research and are enthusiastic about fellow participation. The Kidney Epidemiology and Cost Center provides for unique opportunities in outcomes research.
We emphasize multidisciplinary, collaborative care through specialized clinics, including the Glomerular Disease, Renovascular Hypertension, Systemic Inflammation, Pediatric Stone, and Dialysis Clinics. Our close integration with adult nephrology services, novel research initiatives, and access to programs like CKiD, NEPTUNE, IROC, cPROBE, and Cure GN provide unparalleled opportunities for fellow-driven clinical and translational research.
Faculty in the division lead and participate in large-scale, multi-center studies, supported by resources such as the renowned Kidney Epidemiology and Cost Center (KECC), the Institute for Health Policy and Innovation (IHPI), and the Child Health Evaluation and Research Center (CHEAR). As one of the top NIH-funded institutions nationally, U-M Medical School affords fellows abundant research and leadership pathways.
