    Our M-Home learning community gives students a base of support throughout all four years of training, from small group interactions with peers from all classes to individual coaching from faculty mentors.

    Sixteen individuals, and members of Comprehensive Stroke Program, honored with Faculty and Staff Awards
    Sixteen faculty and staff, and members of the Comprehensive Stroke Program, were honored Dec. 4 at the annual Faculty and Staff Awards ceremony at the Jack Roth Stadium Club in Michigan Stadium. The awards acknowledge and celebrate those who demonstrate exceptional accomplishment in the areas of teaching, research, clinical care, community service, technology, leadership, teamwork and administration

    The National Academy of Inventors has selected U-M faculty members Robert H. Bartlett, M.S., FACS, and Zhen Xu, Ph.D., as fellows, the highest professional distinction awarded solely to inventors. They were nominated for being innovative researchers with extensive work translating discoveries into new products and technologies that are addressing some of the world’s greatest challenges

    Sally A. Camper, Ph.D., and Lori J. Pierce, M.D., to receive Muraszko Award
    Two Medical School leaders are being honored for their efforts to help women forge successful careers in academic medicine and science. Sally A. Camper, Ph.D., and Lori J. Pierce, M.D., will receive the Karin Muraszko, M.D., Advancing Women in Academic Medicine and Science Award on Feb. 5 at the third annual Celebration of Women in Academic Medicine and Science.

    George A. Mashour, M.D., Ph.D., appointed interim executive vice dean for academic affairs/chief academic officer
    On Dec. 5, the Board of Regents approved the appointment of George A. Mashour, M.D., Ph.D., as interim executive vice dean for academic affairs (EVDAA) in the Medical School, effective January 1, 2025. He also will serve as interim chief academic officer (CAO) for Michigan Medicine. He takes over EVDAA/CAO duties from Debra F. Weinstein, M.D., who is leaving Michigan Medicine at the end of this year to become president and chief executive officer of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education
