Take the Next Step
The majority of students who enroll at the University of Michigan Medical School apply for financial aid.
We require only two applications to be considered for all types of institutional and federal aid available through the med school, including scholarships, grants and loans.
Current medical students can access information on applying for financial aid on the Medical Student Education SharePoint site.
A quick checklist before you start the two financial aid applications:
- UMMS will begin uploading FAFSAs and creating Wolverine Access accounts for newly admitted students in mid-January. Once both of these tasks have been completed for you, and the UMMS Financial Aid Application is available in your Wolverine Access account, you will receive an email notification.
- Be sure that federal income tax forms for the appropriate year (2023 taxes for 2025-2026 FAFSA) have been completed for you (and your spouse, if you are married).
- If you can’t provide parent information due to special circumstances, please contact us immediately so we can help you complete the application on time.
- Check out the Entering Student Application Guide so you can gather the information needed to complete the UMMS Financial Aid Application.
