Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine

Leading the way in pediatric hospital medicine with an inclusive environment for learning and professional growth.

At the U-M Medical School Department of Pediatrics Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, our dedicated, full-time pediatric hospitalists have cared for children admitted to the general pediatric inpatient service at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital since 1999. Pediatric hospitalists are physicians specializing in the care of hospitalized infants, children and adolescents. They are experts in managing a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses that require admission to the hospital, coordinating care among multiple subspecialties and supporting patients and their families throughout the hospital stay.

The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is committed to delivering compassionate and expert care to all hospitalized pediatric patients at Michigan Medicine. Pediatric hospitalists focus on providing efficient, evidence-based treatments and collaborating closely with primary care doctors and specialists to ensure seamless transitions of care. We aim to be national leaders in pediatric hospital medicine, continuously improving clinical outcomes through quality improvement initiatives and advancing the field through high-quality research. Our program attracts a diverse group of faculty who thrive in an environment dedicated to career development, wellness and mutual support. We also prioritize educational excellence, providing comprehensive, hands-on learning opportunities for medical students, residents, fellows and staff, while serving as a resource and support for patients and families during hospitalization.
