We celebrated our 176th graduating class at the 2026 commencement ceremony, which featured keynote speaker Sanjay Gupta, MD.

Parking

Parking is free in the U-M Thayer, Fletcher and Palmer lots on Friday, May 15, 2026 for commencement guests. Visit the U-M parking website for more details.

Prohibited Items at Hill Auditorium
  • All bags (including purses, clear bags, fanny packs, etc.)
  • All bottles (including all types of water bottles)

  • Alcoholic beverages

  • Aerosol and spray cans

  • Animals (except service animals for persons with a disability)

  • Apparel or signage displaying profane or abusive language

  • Containers of any kind (including coolers, thermoses, cups, cans, flasks)

  • Flags and flagpoles

  • Food of any kind

  • Irritants

  • Noisemakers (including but not limited to whistles, air horns, boom boxes, bull horns, kazoos, sirens, thunder sticks, vuvuzelas, etc.)

  • Projectiles (including footballs, Frisbees and beach balls)

  • Seat cushions containing any type of metal or those with pockets, storage slots, seat backs, arm rests, or attachments of any kind

  • Strollers

  • Video camera, tripods and selfie sticks

  • Umbrellas

  • Weapons

  • Any other item that may obstruct or impair the view or enjoyment of another attendee (including banners, signs, etc.)

Tickets are required for graduating students, their guests and faculty/staff attending the ceremony.

An American Sign Language interpreter will be present on stage for the duration of our ceremony. The in-person ceremony will be live captioned.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta to serve as 2026 Medical School Commencement speaker

University of Michigan and Medical School alumnus and CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Sanjay Gupta, M.D., will deliver the 2026 Commencement address. The ceremony will be 3-5 p.m. on May 15 in Hill Auditorium.
