Visiting Medical Student Program

The UMMS Visiting Medical Student Program provides clinical rotation opportunities for final-year medical students. Here you will find details on eligibility, program timeline, and application requirements.

Visiting Students Health Equity Visiting Clerkship

Aa four-week clinical experience that provides M3 and M4 students with advanced clinical training, faculty mentorship, career development and community engagement to prepare for careers in academic medicine.

International Students

Because space is limited, UMMS generally hosts international students only from partner institutions where we have active exchange agreements. If you're attending an international (non-U.S.) medical school, please visit the Global REACH website to determine your eligibility.

Visiting Residents & Fellows

At University of Michigan Health, visiting residents and fellows are known as Special Purpose Trainees (SPT). SPTs must meet a set of institutional requirements, certifications and experience.
