Dual Adult-Pediatric Rheumatology Program

We are very enthusiastic about our longstanding Program for those medicine-pediatric graduates interested in dual training in both pediatric and adult Rheumatology. This four-year program is jointly accredited by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

There is a very active Division of Pediatric Rheumatology at the U-M Medical School.  We work closely with our pediatric colleagues, including sharing many of our educational activities.

Program Overview
  • Year 1: Predominantly pediatric, with one adult clinic per week.
  • Year 2: Predominantly adult (same assignments as our first year adult Program Fellows), with one pediatric clinic per week.
  • Years 3 & 4: Predominantly devoted to research and other academic activities, with one adult and one pediatric clinic per week.

Dual training requires considerable coordination within our institution, as well as with the accrediting bodies. If you are interested in dual training, we urge you to contact us directly as early as possible, as well as applying through ERAS.
