Application Overview

Application Deadline for 2025-2026: 10/01/24 | Start Date: 07/01/25

During your decision process, if you would like to talk to the program director, faculty and/or current fellows, we encourage you to arrange a visit. We will schedule a clinic visit for observation, meeting/discussions and question answering. This visit will give you an idea of the clinic pace, patient mix, clinic culture and personalities of those you will be working with closely. To schedule a visit, please contact our program administrator.

  • Graduate from a recognized podiatry medical school
  • Meet all CPME and licensing requirements for State of Michigan Licensure
  • International Medical Graduate
    • Provide completed verification of international medical school form
    • Valid permanent resident status or J-1 visa sponsored by the ECFMG (that will be valid the entire time of the training program)
    • Valid certificate from the ECFMG
  • Completion of NBPME Part 1 and 2, part 2 written & CSPE (class of 2015 and after - some exclusions apply for the class of 2016)
  • Signed, completed application
  • Letter of Intent/Personal Statement
  • CV
  • Medical School Transcript (copy)
  • Three letters of recommendation (one must be from your current program director)
  • Interviews will be held the second Friday of November
    • Interview day will last from approximately 7:30am-4:30pm
    • You will meet with faculty, tour of facilities, give a short chalk talk and spend time with our current fellow
  • Offers are typically made around the Thanksgiving holiday
  • We ask for your acceptance prior to the December holidays
  • Credentialing will take place January-April
  • Onboarding will take place May-July, with your first day being July 1
