The Division of Hospital Medicine is among the few divisions in the nation to offer a dedicated two-year research fellowship in the field of Hospital Medicine. The Hospital Medicine Fellowship is built within the curriculum of the National Clinician Scholars Program at the U-M Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation.
The Division of Hospital Medicine holds regularly scheduled conferences with the majority being available for physicians to earn CME credit. Resident Teaching Services
The Department of Internal Medicine has six inpatient General Medicine resident teams. Four of these teams are traditional General Medicine ward teams and include an attending, senior resident, two interns and medical students in their third or fourth years of education. Members of the Division of Hospital Medicine staff 80% of all teaching teams at the University of Michigan and are highly regarded as teachers and educators on the inpatient service.

JetPack Clinical Scholarship Program
“JetPack”, a scholarship program created by the Division of Hospital Medicine, is aimed specifically at clinicians interested in quality improvement or operational efforts. The purpose of JetPack is to provide peer-to-peer mentoring within a resource rich environment to help mentees succeed, typically junior faculty with little experience in conducting or writing a research/QI project. It is designed to help hospital medicine faculty pursue academic work that will lead to the publication of a peer-reviewed paper.
From outstanding MD and PhD programs to comprehensive residency and fellowship programs, and many training options in between, Michigan Medicine offers limitless opportunities for our trainees.
