We offer a wide range of programs to support cutting-edge education, research, and patient care across specialties.

Supporting Compassionate Care

Our team has developed a variety of programs dedicated to supporting the best possible care for our patients and innovative research advancements in the field. We currently offer the Integrative Family Medicine, Japanese Family Health, MDisability, and Michigan Mixed Methods programs.

Trainees at the U-M Medical School Department of Family Medicine will have the opportunity to gain experience in our unique programs.

Integrative Family Medicine

Integrative Family Medicine (IFM) is committed to the thoughtful and compassionate integration of complementary therapies and conventional medicine through the activities of research, education, clinical services and community partnerships.

Japanese Family Health Program Team

Japanese Family Health Program

This cross-cultural clinic provides high-quality Michigan Medicine healthcare in Japanese. Japanese-speaking family physicians and clinical team members who understand Japanese medical practices provide medical care provide care at two family medicine clinic sites. The program was established in 1994 by the late Michael D. Fetters, M.D., M.P.H., M.A.

MDisability

MDisability, a Family Medicine disability health program, focuses on improving the primary care of people with disabilities through medical education, research, clinical care, and community partnerships. It is committed to providing opportunities for training, research, and education, which contributes to culturally compassionate, person-centered primary care and increased representation of persons with disabilities.

Mixed Methods Program

A collaborative program that promotes mixed methods research and scholarship across academic disciplines through education, training, consulting and mentoring with the support of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan. Michigan Mixed Methods connects scholars and hosts workshops and learning labs to foster innovative methodologies and collaborative research efforts.
