Groundbreaking Advancements Begin Here
The Neurology Residency Program motivates and empowers future leaders to champion neurologic patient care, scientific investigation and medical education.
Train in a residency program that’s a frontrunner in research, innovation and the advancement of neuroscience. Our alumni have gone on to hold chief and chair positions of neurology departments at notable institutions including Harvard, Vanderbilt, Massachusetts General Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
While textbooks offer valuable knowledge, residents truly thrive when they gain hands-on experience dealing with the complexities of neurology, by caring for people affected by conditions like multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, epilepsy and more.
Our clinical training includes inpatient services, consultation services, ICU and outpatient services, an active schedule of teaching conferences, educational discretionary and travel funds.

The University of Michigan offers highly competitive salaries and generous benefits to our fellows and advanced trainees. Trainee salary will be commensurate with that of a House Officer at an equivalent level of training based on the HOA contract.
We are committed to promoting inclusion, diversity and cultural sensitivity within our department and our community. Our missions of patient care, education and research are enhanced when people of all backgrounds feel supported, respected and included.
