The U-M Medical School Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is home to over 10 Board-certified and non-Board-certified clinical and research fellowships.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology offers five ACGME board-certified fellowship programs. Click on the links below to learn more about each of our fellowships.
The Complex Family Planning fellowship helps trainees connect with their sense of purpose, identify a vision for their family planning career, and gain the skills needed to begin their path to that career.
The Gynecologic Oncology fellowship a three-year program for obstetrician-gynecologists seeking subspecialty training for comprehensive treatment of women with gynecologic malignancies.
The goal of the Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship is to help advanced trainees identify their paths as future leaders in maternal and fetal medicine and to provide them with resources for their individual success.
Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility fellows benefit from a multidisciplinary approach that brings together the expertise of endocrinology and infertility specialists, OBGYNs, reproductive urologists, lab technicians, and research scientists.
The Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery is structured to provide 12 months of research experience and 24 months of clinical training.

This one-year advanced training program is designed to provide the appropriate candidate with a multidisciplinary experience to train as an expert and consultant in managing most aspects of breast and gynecological cancer genetic mutations, as well as breast health.
The Global Women's Health advanced training program is a two-year program in which graduates of accredited OBGYN residency programs gain clinical and research skills vital to ongoing careers in Global Women’s Health.
The goal of the Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospitalist Advanced Training Program is to provide the necessary experience and mentorship for trainees to become leaders in inpatient OBGYN Medicine, quality, safety, and trainee education.
The advanced training program in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) is a two-year program that prepares gynecologic surgeons to be experts in complex gynecology, advanced laparoscopic, and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
The advanced training program in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (PAG) is a two-year program in which trainees develop the gynecologic expertise to evaluate and treat patients from infancy and childhood through adolescence and young adulthood.
The Women's Health advanced training program is a one-year clinically-focused program that provides trainees with a multidisciplinary experience to expand their expertise and focus in the field of Women’s Health.
The Department is home to 11 Board-certified and non-Board-certified clinical and research fellowships in obstetrics and gynecology. To promote cross-specialty collaboration, all trainees take part in our didactic curriculum. These are ½ day educational seminars on numerous topics relevant to clinical research and academic leadership.
Topics include research design and implementation, identifying funding opportunities, manuscript timelines and preparation, how to be an effective teacher and employment opportunities. In addition, the department sponsors social events for fellows and advanced trainees across all specialties to further encourage collaboration and to help fellows build both a professional and personal network.
The University of Michigan offers highly competitive salaries and generous benefits to our fellows and advanced trainees. Trainee salary will be commensurate with that of a House Officer at an equivalent level of training based on the HOA contract.

Both as a resident and fellow, department leadership and mentors enabled me to individualize my clinical experiences and research work related to gender-affirming care. The space for individualized training allowed me to foster my passions and develop the skills I needed for the next steps in my career and clinical care.
