Faculty in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology lead innovative research, including clinical trials and translational research, and are committed to providing a world-class education for the next generation of gynecologic oncologists. Our learners are valued participants in all aspects of gynecologic oncology research under the expert mentorship of our faculty members.
The Division of Gynecologic Oncology provides state-of-the-art care for patients with cancer of the female genital tract. Our team provides multidisciplinary comprehensive therapy coordinated within a single clinic, resulting in the delivery of cutting-edge clinical care for our patients.
We have a weekly multidisciplinary tumor board that includes members of Gynecologic Oncology, Radiology, Pathology, and Clinical Research that provides expert opinions on unique and challenging cases.
Areas of Clinical Expertise:
The division is dedicated to the education of our medical students, residents and fellows. Learners are exposed to the breadth of gynecologic oncology care and function as important members of the team in the clinic, during inpatient management, and in the operating room.
Our Gynecologic Oncology fellowship program is structured to provide one year of research experience followed by two years of clinical training. We aim to train well-rounded gynecologic oncologists who are outstanding clinicians, surgeons, teachers, and researchers.
The Division of Gynecologic Oncology research portfolio includes translational and health services research, as well as a robust quality improvement program. Our learners are valued participants in all aspects of gynecologic oncology research under the expert mentorship of our faculty members.
We have a growing clinical trials program with clinical trials available for most gynecologic cancer disease sites and receive referrals for both early-phase and late-phase clinical trials. The gynecologic oncology clinical research team was the highest accruing team to cooperative group trials within the Rogel Cancer Center in 2022. We also have several investigator-initiated trials available for patients which have served as fellow research projects.
In addition, we have a biorepository of ovarian cancer patient samples that are used for a variety of basic and translational research projects by our collaborators inside and outside of the institution.
