Anesthesiology Student Research

The U-M Medical School Department of Anesthesiology is committed to developing the next generation of researchers by offering a wide array of opportunities and topics to foster residents’ research interests.

We offer clinical and basic research opportunities throughout the year for students to engage in research across our research domains — neuroscience, outcomes, and pain and opioid research. Our student research assistants are trained and mentored by experienced researchers based on their interest in a particular topic. Students gain valuable hands-on experience outside of the classroom while learning more about career opportunities in the field.
