Founded in 1962 at the University of Michigan, the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching (CRLT) was the first teaching center in the country. CRLT is part of the Provost's Office and works with faculty, graduate student instructors (GSIs) and academic administrators in all nineteen schools and colleges to support and enhance learning and teaching at U-M. CRLT offers a comprehensive array of curricular and instructional development activities.

LinkedIn Learning is an on-demand learning solution designed to help you gain new skills and advance your career. LinkedIn Learning is available at no cost to all active faculty, staff (including temporary employees), and students at the University of Michigan.

Michigan Online provides free access to non-credit-eligible courses from the University of Michigan for current U-M faculty, staff, and students.

The mission of Organizational Learning is to empower people through lifelong learning. They are the university’s central department for professional, career, and leadership development. Organizational Learning promotes campus culture change initiatives and offers professional, career, and leadership development opportunities for U-M faculty and staff.

A new 3-year pilot program will provide Nature Masterclasses professional development training for researchers of all experience levels by drawing on the expertise of Nature Portfolio journal editors and experts. These masterclasses are now available to faculty, staff, and students on all three University of Michigan campuses thanks to the sponsorship of the Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research (MICHR), the UMMS Office of Faculty Development, and the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR). University of Michigan faculty, staff, and students can access a variety of courses at no cost to them on topics including design research, experiments and analysis, writing and publishing, sharing and disseminating, and career development.
