The Michigan Medicine Alumni Society recognizes current medical students who have shown outstanding talent and promise during their Medical School careers.

About the Awards

The Michigan Medicine Alumni Society recognizes current medical students who have shown outstanding talent and promise during their Medical School careers. Student Awards are presented during the annual Graduation Awards Luncheon and Awards Ceremony, typically held the day before Medical School Commencement. Awards include:

  • The M2 and M3 Student Scholarship Service Awards
    Michigan Medicine Alumni Society Scholarship Service Awards are presented to one second- and one third-year medical student who demonstrate a commitment to improving human welfare through medicine. All students in their second and third years of training in the U-M Medical School are eligible to receive the award, which consists of a certificate of merit and $2,000. 
  • The Academic Achievement Award
    The Academic Achievement Award is presented to the graduating senior who has achieved the highest academic standing in his or her class. The award consists of a certificate of merit and $3,000.
Nomination Process

To nominate a student, you will need to:

  1. Secure two letters of recommendation. Note that if you are self-nominating, your letter counts as one of two.
  2. Complete the nomination form and upload letters and any additional supporting documents

Mailed materials must be postmarked by/uploaded materials received by February 14, 2025.
