Open Positions
The University of Michigan Department of Radiology is seeking multiple fellowship-trained interventional radiologists to join as full-time clinical faculty. These positions will provide image-guided procedural services at the Sidney and Madeline Forbes Advanced Imaging Center in Troy, Michigan, expected to open in Fall 2027. The Forbes Advanced Imaging Center will be a state-of-the-art facility equipped with cutting-edge technology and groundbreaking treatment capabilities.
We seek candidates with strong clinical skills, high integrity, and a commitment to professionalism. Candidates should have fellowship training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology, and expertise in Cross-Sectional Interventional Radiology, including CT- and ultrasound-guided procedures.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- M.D. or equivalent.
- American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification or board eligibility.
- Must have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology
- Demonstrated experience and competency in Cross-Sectional Interventional Radiology, including CT- and ultrasound-guided procedures.
- Eligibility for full, unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Michigan.
Evidence of excellence in patient care is expected. Successful candidates will collaborate effectively with faculty and clinical colleagues across the Department of Radiology, the Forbes Advanced Imaging Center, and the broader health system.

The University of Michigan Department of Radiology is recruiting a fellowship-trained cardiothoracic radiologist with high integrity and a strong commitment to professionalism to join our team of cardiothoracic radiology faculty at either the Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level.
Our growing and diverse practice has the breadth, depth and scale for faculty at any career stage and with general or specialized interests anywhere along the spectrum from clinician-educator to clinician-scientist. We emphasize mentorship, career and leadership development.
The division performs and interprets the full gamut of cardiothoracic radiology examinations, including thoracic and cardiovascular CT and MRI, and radiographs. The division has access to state of the art digital portable and standard chest radiographic equipment with tomosynthesis capability, MRI systems including 1.5T, 3T and 0.55T magnets, and advanced CT scanners including photon counting technology.
Responsibilities include teaching a spectrum of learners (medical students, residents, fellows and peers), and clinical, translational and/or basic research. We have many ongoing research programs within the Department, including close collaboration with our own Basic Sciences Division, and with colleagues across Michigan Medicine and the University of Michigan campus. The University of Michigan Medical School has the largest group of health services researchers in the United States at our Institute for Healthcare Policy & Innovation, and an excellent Faculty Development Program.
Cardiothoracic Radiology faculty enjoy close relationships with many disciplines, including Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiovascular Medicine and Michigan Institute for Imaging Technology and Translation. We are active in many multidisciplinary programs including the Thoracic Cancer Program as part of our NCCN and NIH designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, Interstitial Lung Disease, obstructive lung disease, lung transplantation, cardiac oncology, cardiomyopathy, pediatric and adult congenital heart disease, aortic disease, structural heart disease, and cardiac electrophysiology/arrhythmia. The Department of Radiology is recruiting a fellowship-trained neuroradiologist with high integrity and a strong commitment to professionalism to join our team at either the Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor or Professor level.

The Neuroradiology Division performs and interprets the full gamut of diagnostic examinations and procedures, including CT, MRI, myelography, lumbar punctures, and biopsies in the outpatient, inpatient and ER settings. The neurointerventional radiology team is based in the neuroradiology division and is composed of two radiologists and two neurosurgeons. Our training programs include six neuroradiology fellows, occasionally a second-year neuroradiology fellow, and a neurointerventional radiology fellow.
The Department has the latest hardware and software capabilities for all aspects of anatomic, physiologic and metabolic imaging. We operate 19 MR scanners, including an intraoperative unit, 3T, 1.5T and 0.55T units, 19 CT scanners including among them GE VCT 64, Revolution, Frontier and Discovery HD 750 scanners, Siemens Force scanner, a portable scanner for the neuro ICU, a dental scanner and two photon counting scanners. Our three neuroangiographic suites include a CT biplane angiographic unit, a biplane angiographic unit and a multipurpose single plane angiographic unit.

Neuroradiology faculty enjoy close relationships with many disciplines, including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Radiation Oncology. These collaborations provide a stimulating collegial atmosphere with more than 20 interdisciplinary conferences each week, including teaching conferences, tumor boards and clinical working conferences. - M.D. or equivalent
- ABR-certified, has passed the core examination and on track to take the certifying examination within 15 months of completing residency, with ACGME-accredited fellowship training in neuroradiology, and the ability to obtain a medical license in the State of Michigan.
- Evidence of clinical competence and competence in teaching is expected. Candidates with two years of fellowship training will be given preference, although this is not mandatory.

I have my dream job at Michigan Medicine. Even when days are long and draining, I leave with a sense of satisfaction knowing that what I do matters. I take joy in teaching our incredibly motivated and driven residents and fellows. I also love living in the Ann Arbor area, with its numerous cultural and entertainment options. The state of Michigan is gorgeous and has so much to offer for outdoor enthusiasts like me. Working at Michigan Health Radiology has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From day one, I felt welcomed into a supportive and academically enriching environment where excellence is expected, but never at the cost of collegiality or well-being. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet professional, and there’s a genuine sense of camaraderie—colleagues are always willing to lend a hand or share their knowledge. The faculty proactively reach out, and they are excellent listeners. This is especially important for me as a junior attending.
Michigan Medicine Radiology feels like a second home, a place where I can grow both personally and professionally. Being part of this team has not only shaped my career but has also deepened my passion for radiology in ways I hadn’t imagined. The departmental leadership, trainees, technologists, and faculty all share a common goal of providing the best care for our patients.
The best part of joining the radiology faculty at Michigan Medicine is the people who are interested in fostering a culture of collaboration and mentorship. As a junior faculty member interested in starting a research career in studying imaging correlates of aging and dementia, I was able to leverage mentors in my department to connect me to a community of imaging scientists in biomedical engineering, neurology, neurospsychology, computer science, and related disciplines through the Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.
These collaborations have set the foundation for my research and provided me with a community of like-minded individuals who share my professional interests. The relationships I have built with my cross-disciplinary mentors have helped me secure my first internal and extramural grants. Whatever your interests may be, you are likely to find the community you’re looking for to achieve your ambitions.
When I joined Michigan Radiology, I was immediately struck by the inter- and intra-departmental collaborative spirit and the genuine support for innovation. Working closely with our Urology colleagues allowed me to help build services like prostate artery embolization, bolster our renal cancer ablation service line, and create a palliative pain program; all of which have grown tremendously in a short time. Establishing a multidisciplinary BPH clinic in Chelsea has been both a professional accomplishment and a testament to what’s possible here because of the collaborative spirit.
Beyond clinical work, I’ve found it deeply rewarding to be involved in faculty recruitment and play a role in training residents, fellows, and medical students. What I appreciate most is that the department encourages us to push boundaries while also reminding us to find balance and protect time for our families. I genuinely feel fortunate to be part of this community.
