The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Fellowship at the U-M Medical School Department of Emergency Medicine aims to provide fellows with the skills and knowledge to become leaders in the field of pre-hospital care. We believe that this involves exposure and involvement in a multitude of experiences which can be tailored to the fellow’s professional and educational goals. There are opportunities within the realms of ground EMS transport, aeromedical operations, research, EMS system design and management, event medicine, disaster medicine and special operations.
The fellowship is supported by the Department of Emergency Medicine and EMS board certified faculty with a diversity of experiences, some of whom have been working in EMS for over 30 years. The faculty are committed to providing our fellows with an outstanding educational experience with support for their professional and personal development.
The field of EMS and pre-hospital care is extremely large and diverse. We recognize that each fellow will have specific interests and that mastery of the knowledge and skill base will require life-long learning and commitment. We aim to provide our fellows a framework for career development while ensuring that we cover the core content required to pass subspecialty certification. EMS is inherently based in the pre-hospital environment and as such much of the fellowship will be spent in the community, working alongside providers and local/regional EMS leaders.

- USMLE or COMLEX scores (official transcripts preferred)
