Software & Bioinformatics Tools
AI and Machine Learning methods and tools are quickly becoming an integral part of computational biomedical research, vastly expanding the bioinformatician toolbox. DCMB faculty contribute and take advantage of these new developments.
While the initial development of a methodology is often driven by practical research questions, these innovative and impactful methods can often be expanded, adapted, and applied to other areas, eventually having a much broader impact in the field of bioinformatics.
The vast majority of DCMB faculty members ground their research on both practical questions and methodological development, making significant contributions to theories, generalizable methods, and AI, in their foundational and translational applications to biomedical sciences.
