Parents in Medical School aims to build an inclusive community open to any and all medical students who identify as parents or caregivers and develop supportive relationships among parents and families.
PiMS welcomes individuals of all family structures and gender/sexual identities. We hope to host fun gatherings and events to connect our families and build that sense of togetherness, joy, and community. Our group aims to curate resources for parents from the medical school, the central campus, and Ann Arbor at large to provide information regarding housing, childcare, financial support, and navigating medical school planning and schedules.
We want to build a bridge between parents and the administration and faculty so that we as a minority group on campus also have a collective voice to advocate for policy changes and solutions to our very unique needs as both students and providers for our families.
