Dr. Marella’s work focuses on single-cell RNA sequencing, exploring the behavior and interactions of immune cells in the skin, both in homeostasis, and in the context of diseases such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. She is passionate about understanding how aging and environmental factors shape the immune landscape of the skin. One key project investigates the mechanisms by which chronic sun exposure alters immune cell function and contributes to skin inflammation and immunosenescence.
