Mariaelena (Mari) Boyle MD, MSc

Mari’s research focuses on the financial and clinical impacts of pediatric trauma, the leading cause of death in childhood. Her work is shaped by her own childhood experiences with Medicaid and by the challenges her patients face while navigating public and private health insurance systems.

Mari chose to pursue an academic surgical career at the University of Michigan for the opportunity to collaborate with researchers from diverse backgrounds to address some of healthcare’s greatest challenges.
