Research Overview
I am physician-scientist with a clinical specialization in uveitis and vitreoretinal surgery, and my translational research program is focused on uveitis and ocular inflammatory diseases. My research goals include 1) understanding the role of the gut microbiota in stimulating autoimmunity in non-infectious uveitis (NIU); 2) identifying both prognostic and therapeutic biomarkers of treatment success and failure; and 3) investigating antigen-driven T-cell immune responses in uveitic diseases with strong class I and class II HLA associations.
