About
Jenna Devare is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Michigan within the Pediatric Otolaryngology division, where her primary practice focus is in complex pediatric otology. She completed otolaryngology residency at the University of Michigan in 2021. During and after residency, she was a NIH T32 research fellow in the University of Michigan Kresge Hearing Research Institute in the laboratories of Yehoash Raphael, PhD and Bryan Pfingst, PhD studying how cochlear health impacts cochlear implantation outcomes in chronically implanted mouse models. She went on to complete a two-year Pediatric Otolaryngology fellowship at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where she joined the laboratory of Beverly Davidson, PhD working on inner ear gene therapy, and was a witness to the first-in-USA inner ear gene therapy clinical trial surgeries. Dr. Devare's research focuses on novel methods for gene therapy delivery for hearing loss, and clinically she leads the Genetics of Hearing Loss Clinic and is a physician team member of the Cochlear Implant Program.
