  • About

Dr. Meisner is a physician-scientist in Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Michigan. His clinical focus is in cardiovascular genetics collaborating in the hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, muscular dystrophy, cardiovascular genetics and aortopathy, and RASopathy multidisciplinary clinics. He also sees general cardiology and molecular and biochemical cardiology patients in his individual clinics. His translational research laboratory utilizes induced pluripotent stem cell cardiomyocyte (iPSC CM) and innovative mouse models to understanding the of pathophysiology and clinical course that leads to cardiomyopathy in children and young adults secondary to metabolic disorders (e.g. TANGO2 related metabolic encephalopathy and arrhythmia syndrome), growth signaling (e.g. RASopathies), and disruption of the cardiomyocyte contractile apparatus (e.g. MYBPC3 hypertrophic cardiomyopathy).
