Dr. Lauren Oshman is a family physician with special interests in type 2 diabetes, obesity medicine, substance use disorder, behavior change and motivational interviewing. She maintains a clinical practice at Chelsea Family Medicine seeing patients of all ages. She most enjoys developing relationships with patients over time, helping them achieve the best level of health and supporting them and assisting them in navigating the health care system through chronic and acute illnesse.

Dr. Oshman has advanced fellowship training in quality improvement; much of her clinical research focuses on quality improvement and implementation science for a variety of chronic diseases in primary care and health system settings.
She maintains an active research portfolio focused on reducing racial and ethnic health inequities in management of substance use disorder in pregnancy and bias in testing and reporting substance-exposed newborns to child protective services. She is a member of the AntiRacism and Equity Program, a program of the Department of Family Medicine focused on anti-racism praxis in research methods.
