    Samya Nasr’s global health work focuses on respiratory diseases, diseases of the lungs, and malnutrition in adolescents, children, and infants. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of empowering women, strengthening systems for health, and providing technical solutions. Nasr’s research interests focus on environmental health and sustainability, food systems and security, and the intersection of gender and politics.
    Dr. Nasr is a board certified Pediatric Pulmonologist at The University of Michigan Medical School.

    Embracing Egypt: Connecting Cystic Fibrosis Families Across the Globe

    For decades, families in Egypt lived without answers. Since 1997, Dr. Samya Nasr, Professor of Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonologist at the University of Michigan Health C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, has worked to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis in Egypt, leading global efforts to improve diagnosis and understanding.
