    Dr. Gorga was born and raised in Michigan, earning his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University. He completed his general pediatrics training at the University of Michigan, where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Gorga continued his training at the University of Michigan, completing his fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, where he continues to serve the University of Michigan and Mott Children's Hospital community.

    Research Overview

    Dr. Gorga is involved in evaluating the impact of acute kidney injury (AKI) and intravenous fluid management strategies on critically ill children. Specifically, Dr. Gorga is interested in understanding the controllable factors and clinician decision making processes during critical time periods in severe illnesses. He is a member of many multi-center observational studies and is a member of the Worldwide Exploration of Renal Replacement Outcomes Collaborative in Kidney Disease (WE-ROCK) steering committee, leading the ECMO subsection.
