About
Donovan Maust, MD, MS, is a geriatric psychiatrist and health services researcher. He is the Willard C. Blackney Jr. and Geraldine LaTendresse Blackney Research Professor of Geriatric Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Medical School and is a Research Scientist with the VA Ann Arbor Center for Clinical Management Research. A primary focus of his research is psychotropic prescribing to older adults in community and residential settings. He is also multiple PI of the National Dementia Workforce Study, a NIA-funded cooperative agreement launched in 2023 to develop and field national surveys of the workforce caring for older adults with dementia. He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and completed his clinical training at the University of Pennsylvania.
