Dr. Jill Schneiderhan earned her medical degree from Southern Illinois School of Medicine (2001) and completed her Family Medicine residency training at West Suburban Family Medicine in Oak Park, Illinios. (2004). Her career has had a strong focus on education across the entire spectrum spanning preclinical education, family medicine residency and fellowship training in Integrative Medicine. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan and Co-Director of the Integrative Family Medicine Program. Her clinical focus is on the integrative management of chronic pain. She is passionate about supportive patients in self-management of their pain through lifestyle and Integrative Modalities and has a special interest in Mindfulness and Trauma Informed Care.
• To improve patient’s experience with pain management through the investigation of compassionate evidence informed non-pharmacological strategies.
• To improve integration of Trauma-Informed Care in the clinical setting
• To explore the role of trauma in complex chronic pain and identify non-pharmacological treatment strategies to offer patients
• To support the doctor-patient relationship (as foundational to effective pain management) through increased self-care and well-being of both providers and patients.
• To increase our understanding of provider/physician wellness and tease apart the complexity of barriers and facilitators of wellness.
