    Research Overview

Our laboratory investigates how epigenetic changes contribute to the development of chronic lung diseases. We study how DNA methylation patterns are altered in fibroblasts from patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and how differential methylation of specific genes contribute to IPF pathogenesis. We also investigate how air pollution and particulate matter affect DNA methylation and contribute to lung fibrosis and asthma.
