Dr. Wu joined the Department of Molecular & Integrative Physiology in 2013. She is currently the Jessica Schwartz Collegiate Professor in the Life Sciences, a research associate professor of Life Sciences Institute (LSI), a member of the Cellular & Molecular Biology Program (CMB), Program in Biomedical Sciences (PIBS) and Center for Cell Plasticity and Organ Design.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Science and Technology of China and then her Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from the University of Michigan, respectively. After her Ph.D, Jun subsequently worked with Bruce Spiegelman at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School as a postdoctoral fellow and instructor.

    Research Overview

Investigating a beige-selective immune-adipose interaction and studying a novel function of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in energy metabolism (R01DK107583).

Investigate the mechanistic details how the nonneuronal cholinergic signaling through CHRNA2 is activated, mediated and plays an adaptive/protective role in the context of alcoholic liver disease (ALD) (R01AA028761).
