Qian Dong, MD

Qian Dong, MD is a Professor of Radiology, Medical Director of the Main Campus Radiology Ambulatory Care Units (ACU). Dr. Dong is a physician-scientist with 1 current R01 NIH grant and a completed RSNA research grant to her name. She is interested in quantitative imaging in soft tissue and bone tumors such as: soft tissue sarcoma, multiple myeloma, as well as inflammatory arthritis using MRI diffusion and MRI perfusion biomarkers.

Dr. Dong completed her post graduate training in two Radiology specialties (Pediatric Radiology Fellowship – 2004 – 2005, Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship – 2005 -2007, University of Michigan Health System). She then joined the department of radiology at the University of Michigan as faculty from 2007.

Dr. Dong had served as director of the Medical Student Education of the Radiology Department Musculoskeletal Division at the University of Michigan for more than 10 years. Dr. Dong’s academic achievements include over 50 peer-reviewed publications and multiple invited national and international lectures. Dr. Dong provides organizational service, is a previous member of the Advisory Committee on Clinical Track Appointments (CLINACAP) from 2021 to 2024, an active member of the Institutional Review Boards (IRBMED) of the University of Michigan Medical School. She is active in various medical societies, has been serving as the Chinese Society of Radiology Ambassador for the American Roentgen Ray Society.
