About
Dr. Paul S. Jansson is the Medical Director of the Massey Family Foundation Emergency Critical Care Center (EC3) at the University of Michigan Medical Center and the Director of Operations for the Division of Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Jansson graduated magna cum laude from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine where he also earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety. He completed residency training at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency (HAEMR) at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) and Massachusetts General Hospital, followed by a fellowship in internal medicine - critical care medicine at BWH and Harvard Medical School (HMS).
After fellowship, he joined the faculty at BWH and HMS, where he held a number of leadership positions within the department, including ICU Liaison, quality improvement lead for the Division of Emergency Critical Care Medicine, and lead for quality and safety programs at the STRATUS Center for Medical Simulation, where he oversaw the hospital-wide mock code program. He also served as the medical director for quality and safety in the Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital Emergency Department.
Dr. Jansson is board certified in emergency medicine and critical care medicine (internal medicine). He has been honored as the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) 2015 National Outstanding Medical Student Award, the Council of Residency Directors in Emergency Medicine (CORD) 2019 Resident Academic Achievement Award, and the Brigham and Women's Hospital 2024 Outstanding Clinician Award.
