A native of Southeastern Michigan, Dr. Kozlow received his Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Chemistry from Cornell University. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for his M.D. degree. He underwent Plastic Surgery Residency training at the University of Michigan followed by an additional one-year fellowship in Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Texas – MD Anderson Cancer Center. He has returned to the University of Michigan joining the faculty in 2011.
Dr. Kozlow is clinically focused on the reconstruction of oncologic and traumatic defects. His microsurgical training allows him to perform autologous breast reconstruction with abdominal-based DIEP flaps and thigh based perforator flaps. He partners with members of the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center to provide an integrated and multi-disciplinary reconstruction for complex defects including the extremities and pelvis. His goal is to perform reconstructions that optimize the function and form that can be lost following the surgical removal of tumors. He also treats patients with primary cutaneous malignancies including melanoma and other skin cancers.
