Dr. John Kim serves as the Director of the Neuroradiology Fellowship Program and is an Associate Professor at the University of Michigan. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering from Cornell University, followed by his medical degree and radiology residency at the University of Iowa. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Neuroradiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital before joining the faculty at the University of Michigan in 2016.

Dr. Kim is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology, with subspecialty certification (CAQ) in Neuroradiology, and additional certifications from the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and the American Board of MR Safety.

Recognized for his excellence in education, Dr. Kim has received numerous awards and honors for his teaching and scientific contributions. Most notably, he was named Faculty Teacher of the Year in the Department of Radiology at Michigan Medicine for two consecutive years. He has been invited to deliver neuroradiology lectures and lead conferences across the United States, as well as in Korea and Japan.

Dr. Kim’s academic and clinical interests center on education at all levels—medical student, resident, and fellow—as well as the application of advanced MRI techniques in both pediatric and adult neuroimaging.
