In addition to transplantation and surgical education, Dr. Barrett is committed to resident and faculty wellness. She founded the Women in Surgery program at the University of Michigan and encourages mental health awareness and work-life balance. Outside of the operating room, Dr. Barrett enjoys being with her fiancé Ben, his son Julian, their daughter Etta and the two furry members of the family-Suzie and Cora. She also enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly running. She has completed ten marathons and multiple other road races.
