David Flood, MD, MSc, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Michigan and Associate Investigator at the Institute of Nutrition of Central American and Panama (INCAP) in Guatemala. He completed medical school at Harvard Medical School, master’s training in international health policy at the London School of Economics, residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota, and postdoctoral training in global health research at the University of Michigan. His research has three following themes: (1) using implementation science to improve the adoption of evidence-based interventions to address cardiometabolic diseases in low- and middle-income countries, especially Guatemala, (2) conducting cross-national comparative analyses on health outcomes for cardiometabolic diseases across the lifecourse , and (3) understanding the relationship between cardiometabolic diseases and aging-related outcomes. His is funded by a NHLBI K23 Career Development Award for implementation research in Guatemala. He also is a Co-Investigator of the NIA-sponsored Longitudinal Aging Study in India. Dr. Flood practices clinically at the University of Michigan Hospital.
