Nine Medical School faculty members and nine research staff members have been recognized for their contributions to teaching and research with Endowment for Basic Sciences (EBS) Awards for 2025.
EBS is a committee comprised of the chairs of the nine basic science departments in the Medical School which meets several times per month to strategize about how to best support the success of the school’s discovery research and graduate education missions.
Each of the nine UMMS basic science departments select a winner for each award. This year’s recipients received their awards June 12 during a ceremony in the Medical School.

“One of the great joys each year is celebrating the contributions that our research staff members make to our scientific impact and that our faculty make in our educational mission. The EBS yearly awards are an opportunity to recognize one member of each department each year for these important activities,” Moore and Hanson say.
