Dominick Alton, DO
Clinical Instructor - Cardiac Anesthesiology
Medical School: Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine
Residency: University of Michigan
Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology: University of Michigan
Why U-M Anesthesiology: What excited me the most about staying at the University of Michigan after my training was to continue to work and educate the new residents and cardiothoracic anesthesia fellows to come. I love how we care for the really sick patients who come to Michigan Medicine requiring complex cardiac and thoracic surgeries. I wanted to continue to work with our cardiothoracic surgical colleagues and help our anesthesia trainees grow in their management of these patients.
Best Advice You’ve Received: The best advice I have ever received is to just remain humble in every moment and to not be afraid or shameful when needing to ask for help.
Hobbies: I like to spend a majority of my free time with my spouse, daughter and dog. As a family, we enjoy traveling together and exploring the food scenes of each area we visit. My spouse and I also value going to the gym together and we really enjoy doing high-intensity interval training classes. In the rare moments outside of family time, I try to find time to play soccer with my friends.
Andrew Breglio, MD, DPhil
Clinical Instructor - non-ACGME Pediatric Cardiac Fellow
Medical School: Mount Sinai School of Medicine
Graduate Degree: DPhil, University of Oxford
Residency: Duke University
Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology: Duke University
Research Interests: Broadly, I am interested in inherited cardiac disease and gene therapy for cardiovascular disease, and am also interested in perioperative blood product utilization.
Why U-M Anesthesiology: I came to Michigan to pursue advanced training in congenital cardiac anesthesia.
Best Advice You’ve Received: From Anthony Fauci himself: “Always say yes to opportunities as they arise throughout your career.”
Hobbies: I spend most of my free time either chasing my three sons around a soccer field (or the house), or building Lego with them. Otherwise, I love hiking and wilderness backpacking, and sometimes manage to squeeze in some golf or running.

Hobbies: Spending time outdoors with my spouse and children
Grace Glowniak, MD
Clinical Instructor - non-ACGME Regional Fellow
Medical School: Medical College of Wisconsin
Residency: University of Michigan
Why U-M Anesthesiology: I went to U-M for undergrad so I already drank the maize and blue Kool-Aid. This made the choice easy to stay on after residency to continue my training.
Best Advice You’ve Received: Trust your gut.
Hobbies: Getting outside or being with my cat, Billie!
Irene Kitromelides, MD

Why U-M Anesthesiology: After a great fellowship year at U-M with this incredible group of faculty and residents, I was really excited and hopeful to join the team here! Ann Arbor is also where I'm born and raised — Go Blue!
Sara Levey, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor - non-ACGME Regional Fellow
Medical School: Tufts University

Why U-M Anesthesiology: All of the hard-working, helpful and skilled people in this department! After completing anesthesia residency at Michigan Medicine, I knew I would feel well-supported here as I started in my new role as faculty. I continue to learn so much every day from those around me, and there is never a shortage of people willing to lend a helping hand.
Alexandria Papadelis, DO

Nitya Reddy, MD
Clinical Instructor - Critical Care
Medical School: Medical College of Georgia
Residency: University of Michigan
Fellowship in Critical Care: Emory University
Why U-M Anesthesiology: I loved my training here in residency. I learned so much and I also saw how great the working environment was for both residents and attendings so I decided to stick around!
Jonathan Roberts, MD (aka JR)
Clinical Instructor - Multispeciality Anesthesiology
Medical School: University of Minnesota
Residency: University of Michigan
Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology: University of Michigan
Why U-M Anesthesiology: As I trained here I noticed the support that faculty gave each other and wanted to be a part of that culture. In my first months of being an attending it has held true — everyone is willing to help and share their knowledge and thoughts on often difficult cases.
Best Advice You’ve Received: Asking for help is a sign of genius, not of weakness.
Hobbies: Traveling with my wife, playing board games with friends, and of course — watching Michigan Football!

Why U-M Anesthesiology: My medical school faculty mentor was an amazing anesthesiologist and she inspired me.
Best Advice You’ve Received: Trust your gut. If it doesn’t feel right, chances are, it’s not. Even when it’s not what you want to hear, you have to listen to yourself.
