Postdoctoral training is a valuable time to expand research skills, develop independence, and shape career trajectories.
In CDB you will find a vibrant community of postdoctoral researchers who are developing their professional skills under the mentorship of an experienced researcher. Postdoc-run monthly meetings provide opportunities to present your research and give/get feedback, learn about career opportunities, develop skills, and engage with other fellows. This time may be used to discuss and plan departmental events, such as the annual retreat and hosting seminar speakers.
We require an annual Individual Development Plan (IDP) designed to stimulate honest contemplation regarding your professional development by allowing you to share your self-assessment, career goals, objectives, and skills with your mentor, and to develop a concrete action plan. Prospective postdocs are encouraged to spend some time exploring the CDB website and contacting individual labs of interest for more information.
