The Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) trainer box is a device for surgical residents and practicing surgeons that facilitates the development of psychomotor skills and dexterity required during the performance of basic laparoscopic surgery. The manual skills set includes peg transferring, precision cutting, placement and securing of ligating loop, simple suture with intracorporeal knot and simple suture with extracorporeal knot.

The laparoscopic box trainer is a bench top trainer used by to train learners in the basic skills involved with laparoscopic surgery. The box trainer utilizes the same laparoscopic instruments, scopes, cameras and light source components found in the operating room.
