Research Overview
Clinical Interests
· External Beam Radiotherapy Treatment Planning: I am regularly involved in physics treatment plan checks to ensure treatment quality and safety and am a member of the Dosimetry Affinity Group. I am also the physics co-lead of the lung treatment site and help improve treatment planning procedures, practices, and documentation for the site.
· Special Medical Physics Consultation (SMPC): I regularly cover SMPCs for patient reirradiation cases, which involves estimating patient cumulative doses incorporating potential repair of damage from previous treatments and estimating new healthy tissue dose limits based on these cumulative doses.
· Brachytherapy: I am a member of my department’s Brachytherapy Affinity Group, participate regularly in HDR and LDR treatments, and am the lead physicist for the I-125 Eye Plaque service at the University of Michigan Department of Radiation Oncology.
Research Interests
· Lung function imaging and its implementation in radiotherapy and treatment planning
· Reirradiation and the technologies and workflows required to manage reirradiation patients
· The implementation of knowledge-based planning as a quality assurance tool in radiotherapy treatment planning
· The implementation of advanced radiotherapy treatment planning techniques into clinical practice
