Research Overview
My research focuses on innovative strategies that accelerate the implementation of precision medicine for patients with chronic kidney disease. As a kidney pathologist with formal training in systems biology and a focus on gene expression analysis, I am uniquely positioned to integrate structural pathology with molecular data. My laboratory specializes in computational pathology, including the application of artificial intelligence and the integration of transcriptomic data, such as single-cell RNA sequencing. Collaboration and Team Science are central to my approach, and I have contributed my expertise to major translational research initiatives, including the Kidney Precision Medicine Project, the Nephrotic Syndrome Study Network (NEPTUNE), the Accelerating Medicines Partnership for Lupus Nephritis, and the H3Africa initiative.
