    Stephanie Behme, DPM, is a dually appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Vascular Surgery and Internal Medicine in the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology, and Diabetes at the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Behme completed her undergraduate studies at University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, WI. Dr. Behme earned her degree in podiatric medicine from the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. She completed her podiatric medicine and surgery residency at McLaren Oakland in Pontiac, MI . She then completed a research fellowship in Limb Preservation, Wound Care, and Diabetes Related Lower Extremity Complications at the University of Michigan.

    Research Overview

    Her research interests are wound healing, chronic kidney disease and end stage renal disease impact on wound healing, cognitive dysfuntion and impact on wound healing, diabetic foot infection management, prevention of post operative complications in diabetic foot management, diabetes-related limb salvage, diabetic foot osteomyelitis, impacts of peripheral arterial disease and chronic kidney disease on diabetic foot ulcers.
