The C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital are designed with numerous common spaces throughout the 1.1 million square-foot facility. Many of these common spaces have views of the Nichols Arboretum and Huron River, which are just a short walk away from the hospitals.

Designed by families and health care professionals, the Wayne and Shelly Jones Family Center is a place for inpatients, outpatients and their families to learn and relax. Staff and volunteers provide information, education, support, and help to foster a cooperative relationship between a family and their health care team.
