Building on a History of Excellence

Orthopedics has been part of the U-M Medical School's rich medical tradition since 1873, when U-M faculty housing was converted into the University's first hospital. Over the years, the department has expanded, evolved and embodied the latest technological and scientific advancements, and we will continue to embrace our roles as leaders in the field as we transform the future of musculoskeletal care.
