    I officially retired in 2019 but remained an active emeritus Professor with one active grant through the spring of 2023. After that we closed the lab. The human UM-SCC cell lines that we established from patients as a a diverse set of well characterized and verified model systems are intellectual Property of the University of Michigan. We and many others (with whom we shared the cell lines) have studied aspects of chemosensitivity and resistance; mechanisms of tumor progression; various genetic changes associated with tumor development and progression; as well as many other aspects of human cancer biology using the cell lines has demonstrated their value as a valuable resource. To protect and maintain this resource, BeBioinnovations.com was established in a collaborative agreement with the University of Michigan to serve as a repository and source to obtain either the cell lines or cellular extracts and products.
