Kobina completed his graduate degree at the University of Cincinnati where he investigated functions of the endosome– associated protein, Tumor Susceptibility Gene 101 (Tsg101), in the development of physiological cardiac hypertrophy and cardio-protection from endotoxin-induced cardiac dysfunction. He is currently exploring the roles of palmitoylation, a post-translational lipid modification, on cardiac maladaptive signaling and cardiovascular disease.
