Claire Drysdale is from Golden Valley, Minnesota, and she went to UNC Chapel Hill for undergrad, where she studied biology and studio art. Claire then spent two years at the NIH doing research to improve gene therapy and editing for sickle cell disease. This made her interested in the science and practice of hematology. Claire is currently in the second year of her Ph.D. in Rami Khoriaty's lab, where she is continuing to study red blood cell disorders.
